Who we are

GestureCraft is a local-first macOS app that lets you map custom trackpad gestures, keyboard shortcuts, and mouse-button actions to window snaps, app launches, keyboard shortcuts, and Apple Shortcuts. It is published by SKJ APPS.

GestureCraft does not require an account. It is designed so that your rules, your inputs, and your activity stay on your Mac. This policy explains what the app does and does not process, and the few narrow cases where limited information leaves your device.

What stays on your Mac

The following are stored only on your Mac and are not sent to SKJ APPS:

• Rules and settings. Your rules, recognition tuning, setup state, Test Mode state, and Launch at Login state are stored locally.
• Trackpad and mouse input. GestureCraft reads input events locally to match your enabled rules. It does not transmit raw input events.
• Gesture activity. A local activity log of recent matched actions is kept on your Mac to help you see what fired. It is not transmitted.
• Your scripts, shortcuts, and app choices. Shell scripts, Apple Shortcuts, app launches, and file paths you configure are used locally to run the action you asked for. They are not sent to us.

What information leaves your device, and why

There are only three limited flows that involve a network connection:

• License activation and validation. If you use a license key, the app sends your license key and a hashed, hardware-derived instance identifier to our licensing endpoint at api.gesturecraft.app to activate, validate, or deactivate your seat, and to count how many devices are using the license. The instance identifier is a SHA-256 digest derived from a stable hardware value and then truncated. No raw hardware identifier, hostname, or username ever leaves your Mac, and no personal profile is built. This licensing server is our own and runs on Cloudflare's network; no other licensing company receives the request.
• Automatic update checks. The app uses the open-source Sparkle framework to check for updates by fetching a signed appcast from our own domain at dl.gesturecraft.app. These requests include only your app version and platform. This applies to the direct build; when the app is obtained through Setapp, updates are delivered by Setapp instead.
• Diagnostics you choose to export. A diagnostic report is generated only when you choose Export Diagnostics. The report redacts URLs, file paths, and shell-script bodies, and you decide whether to send it to us. If you email it to support, we use it only to troubleshoot your issue.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and we use it to reply and to help you.

What we do not do

GestureCraft contains no advertising, analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not sell or rent your data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Purchases and third parties

• When you buy through Setapp. If you obtain GestureCraft through the Setapp Marketplace, MacPaw (Setapp) acts as the merchant of record and as an independent controller for the account, subscription or purchase, and payment information it collects to provide Setapp to you. That information is handled under Setapp's own privacy policy and terms, not by SKJ APPS. We receive only the limited information needed to recognize a valid Setapp entitlement.
• When you buy directly. Direct purchases from our website are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment, billing, applicable taxes, invoicing, and refunds under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
• Hosting. Our licensing server and our website run on Cloudflare, which carries license activation and validation requests on our behalf.

Data retention and security

Because GestureCraft is local-first, your rules, settings, and activity live on your Mac and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app. License records associated with your key and hashed instance identifier are kept on our licensing server for as long as needed to operate and support your license. Support email is kept only as long as needed to handle your request. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we process, and licensing and update traffic is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), and similar laws. These can include the right to access, correct, delete, or port information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the CCPA/CPRA, you also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

Because most of what GestureCraft handles never leaves your Mac, the information we can act on is limited (for example, licensing records and any support correspondence). To make a request, email support@gesturecraft.app. For purchases and account data handled by Setapp or Paddle, please also contact that provider, since they control that data as merchant of record. We will respond consistent with applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

GestureCraft is a productivity tool for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at https://gesturecraft.app/privacy/. Material changes will be reflected there.
